What is a sound bath?

A shared space for rest and stillness.

A sound bath is a guided relaxation experience. You lie down or sit—whichever feels most comfortable—and allow the different tones, rhythms and vibrations to surround you.

You do not need to meditate in a particular way or have any previous experience. There is nothing to achieve: this is simply an opportunity to pause, rest and let your attention settle into the sound.

Regular public sessions

Monthly sound baths in Dilton Marsh and Westwood.

Adult group sound baths are held monthly at Dilton Marsh Memorial Hall, usually with a 6pm and an 8pm session. A monthly afternoon session is also offered at Westwood Social Club. Dates vary and advance booking is essential.

Places are currently £10 at either venue. Sessions begin promptly to protect the calm experience for everyone, so late arrivals cannot be admitted once they have started.

Preparing for your session

Make yourself comfortable.

Mats and water are provided. You are welcome to place your own mat on top if you prefer extra cushioning, and eye masks are also available if you would like one.

You may like to bring

  • Comfortable, layered clothing
  • A blanket and pillow
  • Your own mat, only if you prefer to place it over the one provided
  • Your own water bottle if preferred—water is available

Sitting instead?

You are welcome to sit rather than lie down. A limited number of chairs are available, so please let me know when booking if you need one.

Phones and hearing devices

Phones should be switched off. Hearing devices can be adjusted or removed according to your own comfort.

Your comfort and wellbeing

Is a sound bath suitable for me?

Please contact me before booking if you are in the first three months of pregnancy; have epilepsy, seizures, tinnitus or significant sound sensitivity; use a pacemaker or another implanted medical device; have recently had surgery; or have a health condition that may affect your comfort during an immersive sound experience.

If you are receiving support for a mental health condition and are unsure whether this type of sensory experience would feel suitable, please speak with your healthcare professional before attending. Sound baths are complementary wellbeing experiences and do not replace medical care.

Please do not attend while under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs. If you have any concerns at all, you are always welcome to ask before booking.
